    • Synopsis: How do managers cope with crisis after crisis? The year 2020 has provided numerous opportunities to test these skills– and we are starting to understand what works best. In this session, we explore what successful organizations can do in the face of continuous uncertainty, and we examine examples of failure. Fundamental management wisdom is revised, to focus on long term resiliance and sustainability. 

    • Instructor: Mary Ellen Boyle 

    • Bio: Mary-Ellen Boyle currently teaches about globalization and social change, and consults on educational administration, organizational change, and women’s mentorship. Prior to becoming a professor, she worked in the insurance industry and for national, state and city governments. She has been employed at Clark University since 1995, where she has served as professor, Fulbright Specialist, Dean of the College and Associate Provost. She has numerous publications on global liberal education, workplace literacy, corporate citizenship, university-community partnerships, and the arts in business. She received a BA in American Studies from Yale, then an MBA and PhD in Sociology from Boston College.
